Goods-Inwards Inspector To. £32k

OBJECTIVES

The Goods Inwards Inspector is responsible for ensuring that parts, materials and equipment are inspected and handled in accordance with Company operating standards.

DUTIES

• Perform the relevant levels of Inspection and Quality clearance to ensure that inspected parts, as a minimum, meet expectations.

• Ensure a viable Quality Control policy is in place.

• Report to Buyers where any receipt or Quality issues relate to purchased parts. Ensure that all information is communicated in a clear and timely manner.

• Maintain the Quality Management system and the accuracy of the ERP system data.

• Work towards maintaining Quality and delivery standards, strive for continuous improvement.

• Be available for any reviews or inspection requirements with suppliers to improve performance, feedback and relationships.

• Liaise with suppliers, Engineering, Buyers and Managers to resolve any quality of supply issues quickly and effectively.

• Participate in regular departmental reviews to discuss and communicate general issues within the supply chain process and work as a team to solve issues and suggest improvements to the process.

• Ensure the Goods Inwards environment complies with our Company Health & Safety Policy and relevant HSE legislation.

• Work with integrity, honesty and at-all-times, with the best interests of the Company in any business transaction.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Fully conversant with reading complex Engineering Drawings.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Work experience of a CNC / machine shop & warehouse environment.

• Ability to use various types of mechanical measuring instrumentation required to check dimensions (micrometers, verniers, height gauges etc..)

Desirable:

• A good understanding of Quality Systems ideally from within the manufacturing/engineering/electronics sector.

• Experience using ERP systems, ideally Epicor (E10).

• Material handling qualifications, forklift licence, van driving experience, first aid qualification.

• Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, and ability to handle multiple priorities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
