You would be working within a small team responsible for the inspection of PCB assemblies to IPC manufacturing standards, at class level 2 & 3. Product inspection includes a variety of PCB assemblies with surface mount and conventional PTH components, a range of cable assemblies and completed enclosures.
You will be required to use visual aids such as Mantis scopes to decide the acceptability of both in process and finished quality. Understanding assembly drawings and BOMs is mandatory to ensure compliance to IPC standards.
Duties include:
· You will need a minimum 3 years of recent experience in PCB assembly and/or inspection
· Comprehensive understanding of IPC standards
· Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and documentation for build conformance
· Ability to identify IPC failures to IPC class 2 & 3
· Currently or previously certified to IPC standards
· A pro-active approach to managing and reporting to the quality manager
· Use of our computer based system for time booking and recording production notes
Additional skills sought:
· Re-work & soldering of PTH and SMT components, including fine pitch items.
· Experience with X-Ray, camera inspection and BGA re-work tools (internal training can be provided)
